Volunteer with Gravenhurst Against Poverty
It is only through the dedication and hard work from hundreds of caring volunteers that G.A.P. is able to offer programs to the community. For this reason, G.A.P. is ALWAYS looking for more kind-hearted volunteers - and - creating new ways for more people to get involved in making a difference in our community.
Why should I get involved in volunteering with G.A.P.?
How can I help?
There are several G.A.P. activities and programs which require volunteer support. Please feel free to share the areas of expertise you can offer as well as ask for opportunities to learn new skills that will help keep G.A.P. running smoothly.
G.A.P. Safe Space Statement
Diversity is not always visible. G.A.P. values inclusion and compassion and has established itself as a safe space for Black, Indigenous, and people of colour, as well as those who identify as being part of the 2SLGBTQI+ community.
If you would like to volunteer, the first step is signing up by clicking the Green Button below. You'll be directed to a sign-up page where we can collect your contact information, your availability and hear about how you are interested in being involved. From there, someone from the G.A.P. team will reach out and let you know what the next steps are.
"It's nice to know that if someone has a need that I am helping to meet that need. I'm just following the golden rule principle. When I see others helping too, it gives me pride in my community knowing that so many others are working together for the same purpose."
"I think it's important to support my community. I enjoy the interaction with the people I'm helping. They are good people; life just hasn't gone well for some of them. Anything I can do for them I'm happy to do."
